Itajaí speedboat receives unique accessibility adaptation

A speedboat manufactured in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, has undergone a unique adaptation to allow individuals with physical disabilities to navigate and access the sea more easily. The project was implemented on a Focker 272 GTC model, an 8.58-meter vessel whose fiberglass structure and wide stern platform facilitated the modifications.

The adaptation features a battery-operated stainless steel accessibility chair, originally designed for swimming pools, installed at the stern. This system, capable of supporting up to 150 kg, allows the user to be transferred from the pier to the boat and then directly into the water, providing increased autonomy.

The vessel was purchased in July by Daniel Rosello, an Argentine national with paraplegia and reduced trunk mobility. The project was developed by Porto do Rio, a reseller for the manufacturer Fibrafort, utilizing equipment from Tecnipool.
