Italdesign announces business transformation and ownership change

As it approaches its 60th anniversary, Italdesign is undergoing a significant business model transformation. The Moncalieri-based company is transitioning from a specialized automotive design firm into a multidisciplinary integrator of mobility and technological innovation.

A major structural change is set for 2026, when the majority stake will transfer from the Audi Group to UST, a global company specializing in digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence. Despite this change in ownership, the company will maintain its headquarters in Moncalieri and its current management led by CEO Antonio Casu.

The company’s new strategy focuses on seven strategic verticals, including automotive development, bespoke limited-series production, aerospace (including eVTOL modules), robotics, and advanced mobility solutions. This approach aims to combine traditional mechanical engineering with software-defined digital ecosystems to serve the global market.
