Italfarmaco discusses givinostat for Duchenne muscular dystrophy

At the 56th congress of the Italian Society of Neurology in Florence, Italfarmaco representative Valerio Tribbioli highlighted the role of givinostat in treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare, progressive, and severe condition that significantly impacts the quality of life for patients and their families. Tribbioli stated that givinostat aims to preserve motor functions and increase patient autonomy.

The drug can be prescribed to patients regardless of the specific genetic mutation causing the pathology, provided it follows approved indications. Tribbioli noted that the research and development for givinostat originated in Italy and is now being managed by an international team to bring the innovation to other countries.
