Italian agricultural forums focus on innovation and youth
Agricultural innovation and generational renewal were central themes at recent industry events in Italy. In Rome, the ‘Soil Date’ contest held during Rome Future Week allowed over 250 students and young entrepreneurs to vote on scientific projects deemed most useful for agricultural challenges. The presented research focused on water management, soil fertility, microorganisms, bio-inoculants, and circular economy fertilizers.
In Perugia, the Agrofutura festival brought together institutions, universities, and businesses to discuss the sector's future. Discussions centered on the relationship between innovation and tradition, the necessity of supporting young farmers, access to credit, and the economic development of local territories. Regional leaders emphasized the importance of creating a cohesive system that integrates technological advancement while maintaining the core value of the farmer.
