Italian AI Conferences Address Ethics, Education and Governance

The Nervincontra 2026 event took place on 18‑19 July on the terrace of the Collegio Emiliani in Nervi, Italy. The two‑day program featured a children’s lab, a discussion on artificial intelligence with philosopher Paolo Pellecchia and computer‑science professor Vito Paolo Pastore, references to Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical *Humanitas* on human dignity, and cultural activities such as an apericena and mountain storytelling.

The second edition of the Inteligo Training Camp was held at the university campus of S. Lucia in Rieti. Over 50 talks by professionals, academics and technologists were streamed live by Rai News in six languages. Speakers covered AI applications in medicine, finance, public administration and smart‑city services, warned of energy consumption, data‑ownership risks and geopolitical implications, and called for regulated governance. The event highlighted China’s five‑year AI programmes as a benchmark and stressed the need for public education to preserve human creativity and democratic discourse.
