Italian Alps host forts exhibition and philosophy‑science dialogue
From 25 July to 13 September the Centro Visita dei Parchi in Vernante will present the exhibition “Ai confini dell’oblio – I forti delle Alpi Marittime”. Curated by French photographer Michel Eisenlohr, the display showcases 40 panels of historic fortifications along the Franco‑Italian Alpine border, including 16th‑century citadels and remnants of the Maginot Line and Alpine Wall. The project, COGNITIO‑FORT, is funded by the Interreg ALCOTRA France‑Italy programme and aims to preserve and promote the trans‑national fort heritage.
On 24 July the Parco Naturale Paneveggio‑Pale di San Martino will host the “Al Limite” series, featuring a dialogue between philosopher Massimo Cacciari and scientist Massimo Bernardi. The event examines the balance between economic development and mountain conservation, addressing topics such as overtourism, water resource management, and wildlife coexistence.
