Italian anti‑drug operations seize large drug shipments and over €1 million in assets

Italian financial police and anti‑mafia investigators dismantled a Rome‑based criminal network run from Spain that trafficked hashish and marijuana across the capital and several provinces. The operation led to the arrest of seven suspects, the pre‑trial detention of five others and the seizure of about 180 kg of cannabis, with investigations tracing shipments of more than 500 kg.

In the southern province of Lecce, authorities executed a seizure order against a well‑known local criminal linked to cocaine trafficking. The operation confiscated two properties, two high‑engine‑capacity vehicles and sixteen financial assets, valued at over €1 million, as part of a broader effort to target illicit wealth tied to organized crime.
