Italian antitrust authorities reach settlement with major EV manufacturers

The Italian Competition Authority (Agcm) has concluded investigations into BYD Industria Italia, Stellantis Europe, Tesla Italy, and Volkswagen Group Italia regarding potential unfair commercial practices. The inquiries focused on the transparency of information provided to consumers concerning electric vehicle (EV) driving range, battery capacity loss, and conventional warranty limitations.

The involved automotive companies have accepted binding commitments to improve transparency. They have pledged to revise and update their websites to ensure that information regarding mileage autonomy, factors influencing range, battery capacity degradation, and warranty conditions is presented clearly, completely, and within a single dedicated section.
