Italian Armed Forces announce new recruitment opportunities

The Italian Ministry of Defense and various law enforcement agencies are announcing several recruitment opportunities for the upcoming autumn and winter seasons. The Italian Navy has released a call for 2,500 volunteers, with enlistments scheduled between June 2027 and March 2028. These positions begin as initial fixed-term volunteers (VFI) for a three-year period, which can lead to further service or specialized roles.

Other upcoming opportunities include recruitment for the Army, Air Force, and various academies for officer training in the Guardia di Finanza and Carabinieri. Experts note that while these roles offer stable career paths, the selection process is highly rigorous. For instance, a recent competition for 4,400 State Police agents saw over 30,000 applicants, with more than 12,000 failing to pass the initial testing phase.

General requirements for various roles typically include Italian citizenship and specific educational qualifications, such as middle or high school diplomas, depending on the specific branch and rank being sought.
