Italian art exhibitions and museum loans see significant activity

Italy is hosting significant cultural events and seeing a rise in the international movement of its artworks. In Parma, an immersive exhibition on Caravaggism is scheduled to take place at Palazzo Tarasconi from November 11, 2026, to March 28, 2027. The exhibition will explore the revolutionary impact of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio on subsequent generations of artists, featuring works by masters such as Orazio Gentileschi and De Ribera. The showcase will culminate with Caravaggio’s masterpiece, ‘The Incredulity of Saint Thomas’.

Meanwhile, the city of Forlì has seen a surge in cultural diplomacy, with 180 artworks loaned to prestigious international and domestic museums since 2019. Notable destinations for these loans include the Louvre in Paris, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Currently, Lorenzo di Credi’s ‘Portrait of a Young Woman’ (the Lady of the Jasmine) is on loan to the Gallerie d’Italia in Milan for an exhibition on Renaissance beauty.
