Italian art exhibitions announced in Rome and Toronto

The Galleria Borghese in Italy will host a film installation by British director Isaac Julien titled ‘All That Changes You. Metamorphosis (2025)’ from September 15 to October 25, 2026. Part of the broader ‘Metamorphosis. Ovid and the Arts’ exhibition, the immersive video work is inspired by Giulio Romano’s frescoes at Palazzo Te. Starring Sheila Atim and Gwendoline Christie, the piece explores transformation through myth and the relationship between humans and the non-human.

In Toronto, the 1313 Gallery is hosting ‘Transumanza,’ an international collective exhibition running from September 3 to 13, 2026. The show features Italian artists Domenico Mendicino, Antonella Rocca, Andrea Grosso Ciponte, and Bislak. The exhibition utilizes photography, painting, and sculpture to explore themes of memory, identity, and the concept of movement as a transformative experience.
