Italian art exhibitions open in Nocera Umbra and Noto

From 7 August to 16 August, the permanent collection of sculptor‑painter Angelo Frillici will be on public view in the historic centre of Nocera Umbra, occupying the former Vittorio Emanuele spaces where the artist lives and works. The show presents his clay sculptures, paintings and installations that emphasize the tactile relationship between the artist and the earth.

Starting 7 August and running through 30 August, the former Convent of Santa Chiara in Noto will host “La voce della cenere”, a solo exhibition by Sicilian artist Nunzio Fisichella. Curated by UNESCO‑site director Paolo Patanè, the exhibition uses volcanic sand, ash and lava‑derived materials to explore memory, regeneration and the force of the Etna landscape, with works that have previously been shown across Europe and the United States.
