Italian art initiatives focus on social therapy and upcoming ArtVerona awards
In Verbania, the Art&Job Academy, managed by the AbbracciArti cultural association, is training young artists aged 20 to 30 to use creative disciplines as tools for social engagement and therapy. Following a protocol between the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Health regarding the therapeutic value of art, the academy utilizes theater, dance, music, visual arts, writing, and circus arts to foster community integration and well-being. The project is supported by the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione CRT.
Meanwhile, the 21st edition of ArtVerona, scheduled for October 2026, has announced several awards aimed at supporting artists and galleries. New recognitions include the Gruppo Euromobil Prize for artists under 35, the Fondazione Bonollo Prize which offers an exhibition opportunity at Ex Farmacia Pretto, and the MC Collection Prize for contemporary research. Other returning awards include the Sustainable Art Prize and various recognitions for painters and draftsmen under 40.
