Italian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Meda serve as qualifier for European Games

The Italian National Artistic Gymnastics Championships took place in Meda over the weekend of 24–26 July. The event featured top male athletes from Palestra Ginnastica Ferrara, including Steven Matteo, who competed on all six apparatus, Andrea Passini on vault and bars, and Edoardo Sugamele on rings. Coaches Claudio Pasquali, Emanuele Menegozzo and Loriana Ferrari oversaw the squad, while federation president Mantero highlighted growing sponsor support.

The women's competition formed the final test for Italy’s team ahead of the 2026 European Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. Giulia Perotti sought to defend her all‑around title, while Asia D’Amato aimed for a third consecutive all‑around podium. Twin Alisona D’Amato returned after a spring surgery, and two‑time European champion Manila Esposito looked for her first national all‑around win. Other contenders included Angela Andreoli, Olympic silver‑medalist Elisa Iorio, Emma Fioravanti, Benedetta Gava and Sofia Tonelli. Scores across the two days determined individual all‑around and apparatus titles, with live streaming provided by Volare TV and Sportface TV.
