Italian artistic swimming team heads to Paris for European Championships
The Italian artistic swimming national squad assembled in Rome before travelling to the Olympic Aquatic Centre in Paris for the European Championships scheduled from 31 July to 5 August 2026. The team, consisting of 14 women and 2 men, introduced two new routines: a mixed technical duet by Filippo Pelati and Lucrezia Ruggiero titled “Guarda! E’ amore,” and a women's technical duet by Enrica Piccoli and Lucrezia Ruggiero themed “Gratitudine per la vita.”
Head coach Patrizia Giallombardo announced the line‑up, noting the loss of Sofia Tabbiani to injury but emphasizing the squad’s high morale following a World Cup victory in Toronto. The roster includes athletes from clubs such as Banco BPM RN Savona, Fiamme Oro, and Marina Militare, supported by a technical staff of coaches, physiotherapists, and a team doctor.
