Italian artists revamp Homer's Odyssey with new illustrations and parody

Milo Manara presented an updated visual version of Homer's Odyssey in Riccione, drawing renewed interest after Christopher Nolan's recent film release. The exhibition re‑examines the classic myth with contemporary artwork.

A separate piece revisits the Odyssey through a 1968 pornographic parody created for director Franco Rossi, offering a free‑wheeling, humorous retelling of the ancient tale.

Both works illustrate how the ancient epic continues to inspire diverse reinterpretations in Italy’s cultural scene.
