Italian athletes secure podium prospects in gymnastics and equestrian championships

Italian athletes achieved notable results in international sporting competitions held on September 11.

At the 2026 Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in Pamplona, Spain, the Italian national team secured two spots in the finals. The mixed pair Lucrezia Rexhepi and Matteo Falera qualified in second place with 19.250 points, trailing only the Ukrainian pair. Additionally, the trio consisting of Andrea Colnago, Arianna Ciurlanti, and Nicole Alighieri qualified in seventh place with 18.965 points.

In equestrian sports, the Italian team secured fourth place in the team classification at the FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses 2026 in Barroca d’Alva, Portugal. The team's performance was supported by Costanza Laliscia and Federico Valeri, who finished 27th and 33rd respectively in the 120 km race. The top three teams in the competition were the United Arab Emirates, France, and Spain.
