Italian athletics meets in Siena and Piacenza showcase record jumps and sprint breakthroughs

At the Italian Athletics Championships in Siena, 19‑year‑old Anita Nalesso threw a personal best of 16.67 m in the shot put, moving her into the world‑season top‑six for U‑20 and ranking her third among Italian juniors ever. Her performance helped the Trevisatletica women’s team finish third overall, just 37 points shy of the silver medal, while teammates also recorded personal bests in hurdles, high jump and other events.

During the City of Piacenza meeting, Ruskin Molinari ran a sub‑10.40 100 m (10.39) in the men’s final, and Elisa Valenti delivered a U‑20 world‑leading triple jump of 13.12 m, setting a new minimum for the upcoming U‑20 World Championships. Additional highlights included multiple personal bests and victories across sprints, hurdles, throws and jumps for both senior and junior athletes.

These results underline a strong generation of Italian track‑and‑field talent ahead of upcoming international competitions.
