Italian athletics sees youth success and professional milestones

Italian athletics is seeing significant activity across different competitive levels. At the Italian Cadet Individual and Regional Championships in Agropoli, athletes from the Atletica Brothers club represented the Calabria region with notable performances. Gabriele Borrello achieved a personal best in the 80 meters with a time of 9.10, finishing 6th in the final, while Samuele Pangallo recorded 9.97 in the 80 meters extra. In the women's 4x100 relay, Giorgia Lauria, alongside teammates Melasi, Nigro, and De Vico, finished 15th with a time of 53.05, a performance noted as one of the fastest by an Under 16 regional selection in recent years.

In professional race walking, Olympic, World, and European champion Massimo Stano has completed his ‘Grand Slam’ of major titles. His achievements include gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the 35 km world title in Eugene, and a recent European victory in Birmingham. Stano has highlighted the technical training conducted with coach Patrizio Parcesepe in Ostia and the importance of his support system in reaching these milestones.
