Italian authorities arrest man for illegal anabolic steroid trafficking
Italian authorities have arrested a 51-year-old man following a roadside check in Portuense that uncovered a significant supply of illegal anabolic steroids. Carabinieri officers intercepted a vehicle containing 100 tablets of Stanozolol and approximately 800 euros in cash.
Subsequent searches of the suspect's residence in San Cesareo led to the seizure of an additional 200 tablets of Lanavr Oxandrolone and testosterone. Investigators also recovered handwritten notes containing accounting records and names of bodybuilders, suggesting an organized distribution network targeting the fitness and bodybuilding community.
The incident has highlighted ongoing concerns regarding the illegal trade of performance-enhancing drugs in sports culture, which pose serious health risks such as liver damage and hormonal imbalances.
