Italian authorities close restaurants in Pordenone and fine Sirmione eateries after safety raids

In Pordenone, a coordinated Carabinieri operation led to the suspension of a restaurant for serious hygiene deficiencies, the sanctioning of a bar owned by a Chinese citizen, and the seizure of hashish along with the identification of 103 non‑EU nationals. The raid, which also involved NAS, local police and specialized units, focused on public gathering places and areas prone to urban decay.

In Sirmione, Carabinieri from Desenzano del Garda, together with NAS officers, the Brescia PSAL service and local police, inspected two restaurants. Both were found lacking HACCP self‑control procedures, traceability of meat and fish products, and basic workplace safety measures. Over six kilograms of non‑conforming food were destroyed and fines exceeding €118,000 were imposed for food safety, labor violations and administrative infractions.

Both investigations are part of broader territorial control actions aimed at protecting consumers and improving public health standards in Italy.
