Italian authorities crack down on illegal fireworks displays

Authorities in Italy have intervened in two separate incidents involving unauthorized and dangerous pyrotechnic displays.

In Isola di Capo Rizzuto, the State Police reported two individuals for conducting a fireworks show at a hospitality facility without the required permits or technical certifications. During the investigation, officers discovered launch tube carcasses, electronic igniters, and control units. Additional pyrotechnic materials and wireless remotes were seized from the premises, and the individuals face charges related to dangerous ignitions.

In Vico Equense, the Coast Guard of Castellammare di Stabia intercepted an illegal fireworks display prepared on a boat during a private event. The operation resulted in the seizure of the vessel used as a launch platform, as well as the towing unit. The organizers face charges including violations of collective safety regulations and the unauthorized maritime transport of dangerous goods, as the display lacked all necessary public security authorizations.
