Italian authorities hold meetings and training to combat gender-based violence

Authorities in Italy are implementing various initiatives to prevent gender-based violence and support victims through the 'Codice Rosso' framework. In Barumini, an event featuring Prefect Giuseppe Castaldo and high-ranking Carabinieri officials focused on multidisciplinary protection, including psychological support and state-provided economic assistance.

Simultaneously, a training program titled ‘Riconoscere, accogliere, proteggere’ (Recognize, welcome, protect) is launching in Matera. Organized by the Municipality of Matera and the Basilicata Volunteer Service Center (CSV), the program aims to strengthen the skills of social workers, psychologists, and educators. The initiative seeks to improve early detection of violence and enhance the collaborative network between social services, healthcare, law enforcement, and the judiciary.
