Italian authorities honor Carabinieri and local police officers

In Modena, Colonel Lorenzo Ceccarelli and Chief Prosecutor Luca Masini presided over a ceremony to award merit certificates and decorations to Carabinieri personnel for excellence in institutional activities and judicial police work. Notable recipients included Major Marco Zavattaro, who received a Bronze Medal for long command, and several officers receiving the Maurizian Medal for fifty years of service, including Niceta Galati, Giovanni De Maddè, and Albano Liberale.

Additional commendations were issued to officers involved in significant investigations, such as a crackdown on scams targeting the elderly that resulted in 31 arrests and the recovery of stolen assets, as well as investigations into multiple aggravated robberies at a betting agency.

Separately, in San Severino Marche, Mayor Rosa Piermattei hosted members of the local police who won the 28th National Futsal Championship for Italian Local Police. Officers Luca Crescentini and Federico Cardorani, part of the winning Gruppo Sportivo Pesaro team, were officially recognized for their historic victory at the tournament held in Marina di Cutro.
