Italian authorities move two home‑detention inmates to prison after repeated violations
A 61‑year‑old man in Latina, previously serving a sentence under home detention, had his alternative measure revoked after multiple breaches, including fraud, money‑laundering and a recent incident of dining out without paying. The Rome Surveillance Office ordered his return to prison, and police executed the arrest.
A 54‑year‑old resident of Castelnovo di Sotto also saw his home‑detention regime cancelled after escaping his residence, threatening family members with a kitchen knife, and being found with an unloaded revolver during a search. The Reggio Emilia Surveillance Magistrate ordered his immediate transfer to a penitentiary, which was carried out by Carabinieri.
