Italian authorities respond to separate incidents in Porto Valtravaglia and Alzano Lombardo

In Porto Valtravaglia, an off-duty Carabinieri officer has been charged with aggravated threat following an incident at a bar near Lake Maggiore. The dispute, which reportedly began over unauthorized photographs of several women, escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, the officer allegedly drew a legally owned private revolver and pointed it upward. The officer, who is reported to have consumed alcohol, faces legal proceedings as the Varese Re-examination Court considers a request to unseize the weapon.

In Alzano Lombardo, authorities have arrested a 45-year-old man following a period of unrest in the Le Piante neighborhood. Residents had reported aggressive behavior and nighttime disturbances caused by the man, who had been living in a damaged vehicle near the Serio River. The situation escalated when the individual allegedly damaged vehicles and attacked pedestrians on a local cycle path. Following a pursuit, the Bergamo Carabinieri apprehended the suspect and removed the vehicle from the area.
