Italian authorities revoke licenses for businesses in Rosarno and Rome

In Rosarno, a legal dispute has emerged regarding a betting center on via Nazionale Sud. Following an anti-mafia injunction issued by the Reggio Calabria Prefecture in October 2023, the business was admitted to voluntary judicial control in March 2025. This measure, which includes the appointment of an administrator to oversee accounting and supplier relations, is intended to facilitate the company's recovery. Despite this judicial oversight, the police headquarters has denied the business a new license, a decision that has been challenged in administrative courts.

In Rome, the Questore has revoked the license of a well-known bar on via Casilina following a series of violent incidents. Within a single weekend, the establishment was linked to a brawl involving gunfire, an attempted sexual assault against a foreign tourist in the restrooms, and a completed sexual assault outside the premises. The Rome Police Division is currently investigating these criminal acts and conducting an administrative inquiry to determine if there is continuity between the current management and previous owners who faced prior license suspensions and revocations.
