Guardia di Finanza seizes unsafe Halloween products in Italy
The Guardia di Finanza has conducted several operations across Italy to seize non-compliant consumer goods. In Mosciano Sant’Angelo, Teramo, authorities seized 27,238 Halloween-themed items, including masks, children's makeup, gadgets, and stationery. These products lacked mandatory information required by the Consumer Code, such as the manufacturer's name, country of origin, and importer details, which must be clearly visible and written in Italian to ensure consumer safety and traceability.
In a separate operation in Vibo Valentia, Calabria, officials seized 3,444 items consisting of Halloween goods and jewelry. These products were also found to be in violation of consumer protection regulations regarding safety and mandatory labeling.
The seized goods are slated for confiscation and destruction. The business owners involved have been reported to their respective Chambers of Commerce, facing administrative fines ranging from 516 to 25,823 euros.
