Italian authorities seize 5 million euros in assets from suspected Camorra associate
Italian authorities have confiscated assets worth approximately 5 million euros from an entrepreneur in Mercato San Severino suspected of ties to the Camorra ‘Desiderio’ clan. The seizure, ordered by the Salerno Court following a proposal by the Prosecutor of Salerno and the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia (DIA), was based on a significant disproportion between the individual's declared income and his actual wealth.
The confiscated assets include a manufacturing plant, three business complexes involved in event equipment rental, a catering business, pension fund shares, and postal bonds. Investigators determined that the individual habitually lives off proceeds from criminal activities and identified a profile of social danger spanning from 2009 to 2021.
