Italian authorities seize counterfeit luxury goods and drugs in separate raids

Italian law enforcement agencies have conducted separate operations targeting counterfeit goods and drug trafficking.

In Ventimiglia, State Police seized a large quantity of counterfeit luxury items during a weekly market. The haul included bags, sunglasses, sweatshirts, and hats featuring brands such as Armani, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, and Dior. Authorities intercepted five foreign nationals transporting the goods in large sacks. One foreign buyer was also issued an administrative sanction.

In the Matese forest area of Caserta, the Guardia di Finanza arrested eight individuals in connection with drug trafficking. During the summer season, operations in the Piedimonte Matese area led to the seizure of approximately 2 kilograms of various substances, including cocaine, crack, hashish, and marijuana, along with 12,000 euros in cash. The suspects reportedly used isolated, wooded areas to conduct their activities away from public view.
