Italy law enforcement conducts widespread anti-crime operations
Law enforcement agencies across Italy have conducted a series of operations targeting various criminal activities, including drug trafficking, theft, and tax evasion.
In major narcotics busts, police seized a cocaine shipment valued at approximately 10 million euros near Morciano di Romagna, involving two arrests. Other drug-related operations led to arrests in Cagliari, Como, Monza, and Savigliano, where substances ranging from cocaine to heroin and crack were confiscated.
Security efforts also focused on public spaces. At Roma Termini, a large-scale operation resulted in eight arrests and 17 denunciations, primarily for aggravated theft targeting tourists. In Rho, intensive patrols identified hundreds of individuals to enhance urban decorum and safety.
Financial crimes were also addressed, with the Guardia di Finanza seizing luxury assets, including Ferraris and Rolexes, from a restaurateur in Verbano-Cusio-Ossola accused of tax fraud involving 780,000 euros in unpaid taxes. Additionally, local authorities in various regions reported arrests for illegal hunting, driving under the influence, and street brawls.
