Italian authorities seize unauthorized fireworks at private events

Law enforcement agencies in Italy have intervened at two separate private celebrations to stop unauthorized pyrotechnic displays.

In Vico Equense, the Coast Guard of Castellammare di Stabia conducted a nighttime operation near a hospitality facility. Authorities seized explosive materials and boats used to set up an illegal fireworks show at sea. The investigation revealed that the display lacked necessary authorizations, fire safety certifications, and required public security licenses. The operation also uncovered violations regarding the illegal maritime transport of dangerous goods. Those responsible have been referred to the judicial authorities.

In Isola di Capo Rizzuto, the State Police reported two individuals for conducting a dangerous fireworks display during a wedding celebration. Officers discovered launch tube casings, electric igniters, and control units used for the show. The organizers lacked both the required permits from public security authorities and the technical certifications necessary to perform pyrotechnic displays. Further inspections of vehicles at the scene led to the discovery of additional electrical ignition equipment.
