Italian authorities suspend licenses for bars in Biancavilla and Frascati

Law enforcement authorities in Italy have suspended the operating licenses of two bars following investigations into public safety and criminal activity.

In Biancavilla, the Questore of Catania ordered a seven-day closure of a bar identified by the State Police as a frequent gathering place for individuals with criminal records. Investigations conducted since November revealed a consistent presence of persons known to law enforcement for offenses including drug trafficking, robbery, theft, and criminal association. The measure was taken under Article 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety to mitigate risks to public order.

In Frascati, the Questore of Rome suspended the license of a bar near a public park for 10 days. The decision followed a series of incidents, most notably the arrest of a young individual on October 12 for drug dealing. Authorities observed individuals arranging drug exchanges outside the establishment. Previous inspections had also identified individuals with police records on the premises, leading to administrative sanctions.
