Italian bakery unions approve 2027-2030 contract renewal platform
The trade unions Fai, Flai, and Uila have unanimously approved the renewal platform for the national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL) for the baking and related sectors, which is set to expire on December 31, 2026.
For the 2027-2030 four-year period, the unions are requesting wage increases of 230 euros for the artisanal sector and 285 euros for the industrial sector. This proposal aims to address the erosion of purchasing power caused by recent inflationary dynamics and geoeconomic tensions.
The renewal process seeks to address several key issues affecting more than 50,000 workers, including contractual structures, job precariousness, generational turnover, training, health and safety, and work-life balance. The unions also emphasized the need to balance traditional artisanal methods with technological and organizational innovation required by a competitive market.
