Italian beach volleyball pairs advance to European round of 16

Italian beach volleyball pairs Samuele Cottafava/Gianluca Dal Corso and Valentina Gottardi/Reka Orsi Toth have both secured direct qualification for the round of 16 at the European Beach Volleyball Championships in Stare Jablonki, Poland.

Cottafava and Dal Corso finished first in Pool A after a 2-0 victory (21-17, 21-18) against the Polish pair Losiak/Bryl. They are scheduled to face the French duo Rotar/Gauthier-Rat in the round of 16 on Friday, August 14.

In the women's competition, Gottardi and Orsi Toth topped Pool C by defeating the German pair Bock/Kunst 2-0 (21-19, 21-14). Their upcoming round of 16 opponent and match time are yet to be determined.
