Italian box office sees 'Minions & Monsters' lead Thursday and strong weekend totals

On Thursday, July 9, the animated film *Minions & Monsters* maintained the top spot in Italy’s box office, earning €183,048 from 450 cinemas and bringing its cumulative gross since July 1 to €3,748,931, close to the €5 million mark expected next week. The horror title *La casa: Il rogo del male* held second place with €77,245, while *Toy Story 5* and Disney/Pixar’s *Disclosure Day* occupied the third and fourth positions respectively.

The weekend of July 4‑5 2026 recorded a total box‑office intake of €2,236,369 across 574 screens, with a cumulative total of €2,798,535. Universal Pictures led the weekend with €821,488 and a total of €7,330,492, followed by The Walt Disney Company Italia with €274,282 (total €4,523,434) and Warner Bros. with €141,837 (total €4,948,077). Other distributors such as I Wonder Pictures, Eagle Pictures and Medusa Film also posted weekend earnings ranging from €65,531 to €16,811.
