Italian business leaders demand clarity amid regional uncertainties

Business leaders in Italy are expressing concern over growing uncertainty affecting local sectors. In Benevento, Gennaro Masiello, president of Coldiretti Benevento, has raised alarms regarding the aftermath of the Airola fire. He noted that agricultural businesses lack clarity on recovery timelines, procedures, and potential compensation mechanisms, calling for a permanent coordination table to provide concrete answers to farmers facing lost crops.

Simultaneously, in Bergamo, Matteo Zanetti, president of Confindustria Bergamo, expressed concern over delays in major railway construction projects, including the Bergamo-Ponte San Pietro doubling and the Orio al Serio airport connection. Following RFI's request to rescind contracts for these sites, Zanetti emphasized that the ongoing delays hinder mobility and regional competitiveness, demanding precise deadlines and a credible schedule to resolve the instability facing citizens and businesses.
