Consorzio Vini del Trentino unveils 2026–2028 sustainability plan
The Consorzio Vini del Trentino has released its third Sustainability Report at the ITAS Forum in Trento, outlining a strategic action plan for the 2026–2028 period. The document covers the entire supply chain, from vineyards and wineries to market promotion.
Following international GRI standards and integrating certifications such as SQNPI, VIVA, and Equalitas, the report analyzes data from the 2022–2025 triennium. Key priority areas identified through consultation with producers and academic experts include the protection of designations, responsible use of phytosanitary products, soil management, landscape preservation, and biodiversity.
Notable findings include the ten-year milestone of the SQNPI sustainability certification, which involves over 5,000 viticulturists annually. The report also highlights the importance of continuous training, noting that winery operators completed an average of over 10 hours of training in 2025. Additionally, studies indicate that the Trentino viticultural model, which alternates vineyards with natural areas, supports higher levels of pollinator presence compared to intensive viticulture.
