Italian Carabinieri Arrest Crime Gang Members in Campania and Tuscany

On 28 June, Carabinieri from the Radiomobile Section in Torre Annunziata intercepted a stolen Audi RS6 in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, linked to a local apartment‑theft gang. After a high‑speed chase, the vehicle was rammed, leading to a violent street scuffle in which one suspect was disarmed with a screwdriver and apprehended, while two officers sustained non‑serious injuries. The remaining gang members fled and are still being pursued.

In early July, Carabinieri operations in the province of Lucca resulted in the arrests of two fugitives. A 46‑year‑old Tunisian drug dealer from Viareggio, wanted for multiple drug‑related convictions and a six‑year‑plus prison sentence, was captured in Altopascio after an intensive search. Later that day, a 42‑year‑old Moroccan man without documents, also subject to an execution order for drug‑trafficking and illegal weapons possession, was detained during a routine traffic stop. Both suspects were transferred to the Lucca correctional facility.

These coordinated actions demonstrate a focused effort by Italian law‑enforcement to disrupt organized crime and enforce pending sentences.
