Italian Carabinieri arrest drone‑using stalker in Alto Adige

On 16 July 2026, Carabinieri together with the local police of Appiano (Eppan) intervened near via Lungo Adige in Alto Adige, Italy, to stop a man who was using a high‑technology drone to surveil his former partner. The suspect, previously warned by the police for similar behaviour, was caught in the act as he hovered the drone over fields surrounding the victim’s residence.

Authorities seized the drone, two smartphones and a tablet, and escorted the man to the barracks. He was placed under house arrest pending judicial proceedings. The victim had repeatedly sought police protection, reporting ongoing stalking and fear for her safety.
