Italian Carabinieri Recover Stolen Firearms in Recanati
Three firearms—a semi‑automatic rifle and two carbines—were stolen during a burglary on the evening of 30 May at a home in Montefano, Italy. The thieves forced a window, entered the residence and removed a wall‑mounted armored safe that held the weapons.
A citizen later spotted an abandoned metal cabinet in the countryside of Sambucheto, near Recanati, and reported it to the Carabinieri. Troops from the Recanati station seized the cabinet and recovered the three guns, which were then returned to the owner. Police investigations continue to trace the path of the stolen arms and identify the perpetrators.
