Italian Carabinieri seize 81 drums of illegal industrial waste in Soliera

In the municipality of Soliera, a joint operation by the Carabinieri Forestale unit of Mirandola, the local police, and ARPAE specialists led to the seizure of 81 blue‑plastic drums containing a viscous substance identified as serigraphic paste waste – a special industrial by‑product. The drums were found abandoned on two agricultural sites on Via Murazzuoli and Via Pratazzola.

Investigators traced the illegal dumping to a logistics company and a local firm; the legal representative of the former and the owner of the latter were placed under investigation and referred to the public prosecutor while remaining presumed innocent. The seized drums, the contaminated soil, and the affected agricultural areas have been placed under judicial custody by Soliera’s municipal Environment Office to prevent further environmental damage. The operation underscores the high priority given to environmental crimes in the province, which pose threats to ecosystems and public health and constitute unfair competition against compliant waste‑management businesses.
