Italy centre‑right poll shows Lega at 5% and Futuro Nazionale climbs to 7.1%

The latest Piepoli poll for Corriere della Sera shows Italy’s governing centre‑right coalition slipping to 40.8% of voter intention without the newcomer Futuro Nazionale. Lega, led by Matteo Salvini, fell to 5.1%, its lowest level in four years, while Fratelli d'Italia dropped to 26.5%. Futuro Nazionale recorded 7.1% support, a gain of 1.1 points, and Roberto Vannacci, a former general, reached about 7%.

If Futuro Nazionale joins the coalition, the combined centre‑right share would rise to 47.9%, overtaking the centre‑left field, which stands at 44.6%. Without Futuro, the centre‑right would be 40.2% versus 42.7% for the centre‑left, assuming the pending electoral law is approved. Analysts note that the alliance with Vannacci could alienate moderate voters from Forza Italia and other centrist voters.
