Italian labor unions launch new framework agreement talks
CISL Secretary General Daniela Fumarola said a meeting with 14 employer associations at Confindustria marked an "important and useful" first step toward drafting a new framework agreement on industrial relations in Italy. The dialogue aims to modernise the model, strengthen representation, and improve safety and training for workers.
Regional CISL branches also highlighted the need for steady dialogue with local authorities. In Irpinia‑Sannio, CISL welcomed the re‑election of provincial president Nino Lombardi and called for cooperation on transport, infrastructure, urban regeneration and job creation.
The Chamber of Commerce of the Marche region signed an integrative collective contract for non‑managerial staff covering 2026‑2028 after negotiations with CISL, CGIL and UIL representatives.
A national employer‑union council has begun discussions on key issues such as contract dumping, representation, health and safety, and vocational training, underscoring a broad push to update Italy’s industrial relations framework.
