Italian ceramic artists showcase traditions in China
Italian ceramic artists are engaging in cultural exchanges in China, highlighting the universal language of art. Mirta Morigi, a veteran artist from Faenza, uses her expertise in maiolica to foster connections through her work. Her piece, ‘Passion Red’, is currently displayed in a museum in Jingdezhen, the Chinese porcelain capital and a twin city of Faenza.
Artist Angelica Tulimiero also participated in cultural residencies in Jingdezhen, noting the historical links between Italy and China through Marco Polo. These exchanges allow artists to share techniques, such as wood-firing and stoneware experimentation, while building professional relationships with international masters.
