Italian Chamber of Deputies implements technological upgrades
The Italian Chamber of Deputies has implemented significant technological upgrades to its assembly hall at Montecitorio following work conducted during August. Acting President Giorgio Mulè introduced new touch-screen terminals for deputies, which facilitate voting, though secret ballots will continue to use traditional button panels.
These new terminals allow deputies to view the daily agenda, voting results, and their own participation history. Additionally, QR codes have been integrated to provide quick access to parliamentary documents and legislative acts. Group leaders are granted access to more granular data, including group participation percentages and individual voting records.
The upgrades also include a complete overhaul of the audiovisual system, featuring new high-definition cameras and improved directing equipment to enhance the broadcasting of parliamentary proceedings.
