Italian champions Elisa Di Francisca and Eloisa Coiro celebrate sport milestones

Olympic foil champion Elisa Di Francisca, 43, visited the Lido di Venezia where she demonstrated fencing on the beach, thanked local organizers and highlighted how the sport teaches self‑knowledge, respect and teamwork. She reflected on balancing motherhood with elite competition and expressed optimism about the future of Italian fencing.

Middle‑distance runner Eloisa Coiro broke a 27‑year‑old Italian record in the 600 metres with a time of 1:24.32, surpassing Patrizia Spuri. The Fiamme Azzurre athlete, who studies economics and finance, spoke of her goal to chase the 800 metres record and prepare for upcoming international meets, including the Diamond League in London.
