Italian charities launch school supply drives for disadvantaged students

Various charitable initiatives in Italy are collecting school supplies to support children and teenagers from economically disadvantaged families.

In Varese, the Banco dei Desideri initiative is being hosted at the Feltrinelli bookstore from September 11 to 13. Supported by volunteers from the association La Scelta, the drive encourages customers to purchase stationery and educational materials such as notebooks, pens, and diaries to help mitigate educational inequality.

In the Fasano region, the Lions Club Fasano and Leo Club Fasano are supporting the ‘Zaino sospeso’ project. This national initiative by Multidistretto Lions 108 Italy allows citizens to donate new or used school supplies—including backpacks, books, and dictionaries—at participating local businesses. The collected materials will be distributed to families in need through local organizations throughout the 2026/2027 social year.
