Italian cinema market shows strong recovery and box office growth

The Italian film market has shown significant growth and recovery across different periods. In late November, the industry recorded over 10 million euros in earnings and more than 1.3 million spectators across 3,000 screens. A notable driver in the domestic market was the debut of 'Oi vita mia' by the comedy duo Pio e Amedeo, which earned over 2 million euros and outperformed their previous works.

On the international stage, 'Zootropolis 2' achieved a massive global debut, surpassing 550 million dollars in five days, including nearly 100 million dollars in the United States. This performance ranks as the fourth-highest debut in cinema history.

Other periods of high performance in the Italian box office include August, where weekly earnings exceeded 10.6 million euros. During that time, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' became the highest-grossing film of the saga in Italy, while Christopher Nolan’s 'Odissea' emerged as a leading earner for the year. Overall, the Italian box office has seen substantial year-on-year increases in both revenue and attendance.
