Italian cinemas host week of cultural programming and festivals

Several Italian cinemas are hosting special programming and cultural events between September 23 and September 27.

Sala Truffaut is featuring the ‘Cinema in Festa’ initiative, offering tickets for €3.50. The schedule includes the film ‘Silent Friend’ by Ildikó Enyedi in collaboration with Legambiente, and the documentary ‘Un giorno senza donne’ by Pamela Hogan, which examines the 1975 Icelandic women's strike. Additionally, the venue will host the DIG Festival 2026, featuring the Italian premiere of ‘Billion Dollar Babies,’ an investigation into the illegal eel trade between Europe and Asia.

In Padua, the publicly owned Fronte del Porto cinema is organizing ‘Porto in festa.’ This five-day event includes screenings, masterclasses, and meetings to present its new programming structure. The initiative aims to reinforce the cinema's role as a shared community space for debate and cultural growth, following a successful period that attracted 8,000 spectators.
